Obviously this is untrue if you have even a basic understanding of how entertainment products are produced. All of those that help to make the final product depend on the revenues from sales for their salary to be paid. So, when you download the latest song or movie from a pirating site, you’re putting people out of work.

I’m not the first one to tell you, I certainly won’t be the last and at times the story can get old. However, it’s important and it’s real and the new campaign against infringement debuted with a video today.

Watch the video and read the Hollywood Reporter story HERE.

Re: Take My Wallet, Take My Keys, but Don’t Take My Laptop!

First time this bullshit story was reported it was not "last week" in 2011 but in 2008. My paralegal training and real world experience in a civil litigation firm provided me with a more practical working foundation than law school. To paraphrase a local judge, "Law schools are good at making law students, but terrible at training working lawyers." Law school provided a valuable foundation in the history of the law, and in the elements of the various aspects of each substantive and procedural area of the law (the WHY), but did nothing to teach me HOW to practice law. The monetary value I was able to provide to clients and my employer after law school came from the practical experience and network that I gained as a paralegal - not sitting through 4 years of mundane lectures in law school.

Re: Law School’s Dirty Little Secret

Forget the haters. I know too many students that come out of school in serious debt with no strategic plan of playing it off. It's a dangerous line to just think you'll get such a high paying job that it doesn't matter. Often, you still have to work your way up the corporate ladder (and pay scale) and that's not always feasible. A little planning today goes a long ways. Yes terribly excited, and no resources for a patent attorney, which was a nightmare. However I've reversed an iowa case through supreme court pro se as well as wrote referendums, both to help the community. No resources as of yet for JD from hahvahd. Patent work is tough. I currently have "Tunnel Vision" my book that is underway, and I'll have resources to blow life back into this wonderful creation that is not in public domain. Like a hamster running in the back of one's mind. I had a 2nd generation plan that could now bare fruit once I've resources, mainly the specifications where I fell short with R&D and patent attorney. I now know what the material will be and yes, there's a solar bank involved.

I'm flattered that you wrote about this and like that you like it. I can see it too and is doable with resources and a bit of R&D, I may see it through through and hire patent attorney just to oversee and make sure all the I-s are dotted.
